HIGGS FIELD OVER COSMIC UNCERTAINTIES
Juan Bosco Díaz Murillo · Ongoing theoretical research · First proposed 08.2026
Abstract
It has been a general acceptance that electromagnetic radiation (EMR), of which light is a part, does not require a propagation medium (a carrier). This approach can be attributed to the fact that, a few years ago, there was no proof of the existence of the HIGGS field. Besides other intentions, this paper proposes the following:
- The EMR, like any other wave, requires a propagation medium (a carrier), which, in this case, might be the HIGGS field as the field that permeates the entire universe.
- The universe may be growing due to internal process transformations, not stretching.
- The redshift of light from faraway astrophysical bodies is driven by the EMR propagation medium (carrier)´s density variations.
- All EMR´s parameter variations, such as wavelength, frequency, and speed, might also be attributed to HIGGS field’s density variations due to the increasing size of the universe, which decreases its density.
- The carrier for gravitational waves might also be the HIGGS field.
Research status: This work presents a speculative theoretical framework and should not be interpreted as an experimentally established result. The proposed relationships and interpretations require further mathematical development, independent evaluation, and empirical validation.

NATURE, ORIGIN, AND CHANGES OF THE GRAVITATIONAL CONSTANT
Juan Bosco Díaz Murillo · Electromechanic Engineer · Panamá
Abstract
This paper proposes a theoretical framework linking cosmic expansion, Higgs-field density, and gravitation. The driving process of the universe growth is examined through the relationship between the gravitational constant G and the evolving density of the Higgs field.
